Mink Engine is the techno-coloured lovechild of Melbourne-based electronic musician Askii and motion graphics artist Touch Me Tiger. Elke Kramer is based in Sydney and works as an illustrator, art director and jewellery designer. Elke brings her unique aesthetic to all her design work, however, it is her line of jewellery, that has brought her international recognition and praise. Adrian Fernand is a writer born in Melbourne. With a background in the interior design, communications and event management industries; Adrian has worked as an event manager for leading luxury goods brand, Louis Vuitton and as director of a marketing, events and online strategy consultancy.
He is the author of his debut novel, The Glamour Never Stops, the social protocol and etiquette blog, I Do Believe I Came with a Hat, and is currently completing a screenplay and work-in-progress, Love in the Time of Chlamydia. He has in excess of 90 pairs of shoes.

David Walley’s recent work explores the concept of progression, lineage and evolution. Returning to his native Melbourne after a long sojourn in Britain provided impetus for a shift in focus. Now Design Director of Yellow Diva, the creative design studio he established in London with British architect, James Davis, David is enjoying a period of productive independence in Australia.

He moved to NYC to work in the industry and in 1997 created his own company, Cursor Inc, an internationally acclaimed digital augmentation studio that provides image-retouching services for the advertising, beauty and fashion industries. VOLKER HAUG & CHRIS NASH
Designer, Volker Haug and artist, Chris Nash; both Melbourne based, are for the first time combining their ideas to create an installation of visual art/lighting. Volker was ten when he made his first light. He now designs lights for contemporary spaces utilising raw and recycled materials. Chris has been exhibiting his abstract painting, collage and photography since 2002. Having come from a performance background before this, his art is created through play, experimentation and instinct.

Tim Fleming’s practice covers a wide terrain as a visual artist and designer/maker. Recently Tim’s practice has focused on carpentry of small objects and modular furniture systems. Fundamental to this practice is a conceptual business operation called ‘Flatland OK’. Tim experiments with objects through hybridising functions and creating products that blur fact with fiction. A play has always existed between this flatness and the form.

Graphic designer, Tess McCabe began her career designing lovely CD covers for bands. Influenced by spaghetti westerns, horse-riding cowboys, western boots and Clint Eastwood, Peter’s satchels are practical and hardwearing – they are built to stand the test of time. Paul Barbera was born in Melbourne, and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts in 1995. He has lived and worked abroad since 1996, spending most of his time in Amsterdam before returning to Melbourne. Minela Krupic was born in Bosnia and relocated to Australia in 1997. Armed with a Bachelor of Arts (Advertising; RMIT, 2005), designer Melanie Martin pursued her passion for handmade craft and 3D design, completing an Advanced Diploma of Visual Merchandising (RMIT, 2008). She currently designs displays for ‘The Stitches and Craft Show’ at Living Creatively Events.
As the inaugural POPAI Student Sustainability Design Award Winner (2008), Melanie enjoys the challenge that visual merchandising now faces: creating spaces with high visual impact; while minimising waste and reliance on environmentally harmful practices.

Melanie Bower is an emerging fashion designer based in Melbourne. She has a degree in Fine Art (2000) and recently graduated with a degree in Fashion Design (First Class Honours, 2007) from RMIT University, Melbourne. Melanie’s work is a result of her ongoing interest in new materials and techniques and is inspired by the fashion-making process. She strives for a balance between austerity and hedonism. Jasmina Krupic, who completed her Bachelor of Design at RMIT in 2004 after having studied photography and drawing, has established herself as an accomplished artist and jeweller in Melbourne. Focusing predominantly on jewellery making, which she describes as ‘wearable art objects’, Jasmina has always drawn utilising markmaking as a way of giving initial form to her designs in jewellery.

James studied Fashion Design and Arts, launching his first full collection under his own name in 2003. Several successive seasons of great acclaim followed, stocked in some of Australia’s most prestigious boutiques. Freefold Furniture produces two flat-pack storage systems made from recycled cardboard, with plans to create a long-life version out of a more durable material. Toby Horrocks graduated in Architecture at the University of Melbourne in 1999. For nine years, he worked for John Wardle Architects as Research and Development architect. In 2007, he won the Lockwood ‘Design a Lever’ competition with a design based on minimising waste in manufacture. As well as Freefold Furniture, he now runs his own architecture practice, Toby Horrocks Architecture in Melbourne.

Melbourne local, Anna Benjamin and German designer, Sibylle Seibert are the creators of Bonee S, an art project using organic materials derived from the land. They embarked on a venture to create stunning jewellery from natural materials uncovered in the bush, including bones and untreated wool; celebrating bones, rather than seeing them as something to shy from. The results are unique and striking pieces that capture the harsh beauty of Australia. No animals were harmed in this project.
